DJ Rock Ryan – Rockin’ DJ & MC Profile
Some of the requested specific/specialist performances, which I have delivered, especially for “Theme Nights”, are The Birth of Rock ‘n’ Roll from the 50’s, 40’s Swing, The 60’s British Invasion, 70’s Disco, 80’s New Wave, 90’s Dance, etc. I have also played at genre specific gigs such as Blues Festivals, Country Rock and Aussie Rock ‘n’ Roll.
I have been support DJ for headliners such as ABBALANCHE, Bjorn Again, The Beatnix, The Australian Blues Brothers Show, The Neil Diamond Show, Ol’ 55, the Jive Bombers and The Little Patty Rock ‘n’ Roll Show Band in venues such as DIGGERS@the entrance, Guildford Leagues Club, Toukley RSL Club, Belmont Bowling & Sports Club and the Grand Ballroom at Star City Casino. Of course, I’ve ensured that I played the corresponding type of music to compliment the gig that I was supporting, from as small as a family get-together celebration of between 50 and 100 people up to a huge corporate bash of over 800 revellers.
My solo DJ and sometime MC (mainly at wedding receptions) gigs have included Rock ‘n’ Roll and Swing dances and private functions such as weddings, Christmas parties, birthdays and corporate gigs in venues such as Ettalong Beach War Memorial Club, Tuggerah Lakes Golf Club, Wyong RSL Club, Kahibah Bowling Club and The Australian Golf Club.
My last few gigs have been DJ and MC for wedding receptions and birthday parties at venues such as The Everglades Country Club, Avoca Beach Bowling Club and Gosford Sailing Club. I love my work. It’s more like a whole heap of fun, being around the music scene, knowing “my audience” is having a great time to “my music” and I hope to be doing this for a long time to come.

Hello! I would like to introduce myself. My name is John Ryan. Music has always been my main hobby/outlet from early childhood, including high school bands in the Sixties. As DJ Rock Ryan, I’ve been DJ’ing and MC’ing for over twenty years, the last ten years on the Central Coast, in Newcastle and Sydney.
I’m not restricted to one genre of music that I play, nor the type of function. I love it all and I’ll play whatever is required by the dance floor, from the 30’s to NOW. It just depends on the venue and whatever the audience wants. I’ve played all types of function centres, “public” clubs and private events, as a solo or support performer. |
